The Dinokeng Game Reserve (DGR) is 21 000ha and boasts to be the first free-roaming and malaria-free Big 5 residential game reserve in Gauteng barely 40 minutes drive from downtown Pretoria.

In the DGR you are welcome to drive along +140km of meandering tracks which most are suitable for sedan vehicles. Come and visit for time out from the hustle and bustle of your normal daily routine to enjoy and relax with nature, adventure, and tourist facilities that the game reserve has to offer.

This game reserve is a public/private initiative situated in Dinokeng a 280 000ha eco-tourist destination in Tshwane where you can view not only the Big 5 but other wild animals, plants, creatures, and humans living side by side. You can easily come for a day trip or book accommodation at any of the venues in Dinokeng which would give you easy access to the DGR for a weekend breakaway or a holiday with over 120 awesome activities. You can also purchase online the self-drive route guide with a detailed map of the self-drive route, with added interesting information on the reserve. This includes interesting information on animals, birds, and plants which keeps the young ones interested as well. It also details places to stop for breaks, meals or picnics, and various restaurants that are a must-visit.
